Andes Crossing

Patagonia is a breathtaking region that lies between two countries - Chile and Argentina. To explore this majestic area we embarked on an amazing Andean lake crossing journey, combining bus rides with boat journeys across the border of these neighboring nations. It's truly an extraordinary experience!
Our magical Andean lake crossing journey from Argentina to Chile was an adventure like no other! A 12+ hour expedition, comprising of 3 boats and 5 buses.
From the hotel, we were picked up in bus number 1 and headed off towards Puerto Pañuelo for our first boat ride across Nahuel Huapi Lake, with stunning scenery at every turn. After disembarking, it was time to board a second bus bound for Puerto Alegre. Once there, we boarded boat number 2. Via Frias Lake, we reached Puerto Frías, where we did Argentina emigration. In bus number 3 came a thrilling drive through Pérez Rosales National Park until reaching Chilean borders & completed immigration-related official proceedings. Then we had a refreshing lunch buffet in Peulla, a small idyllic village nestled amongst rolling hills. Then we boarded bus number 4, heading toward Lago Todos Los Santos Peulla. Finally, we ended this amazing excursion by hopping onto boat number 3, which sailed through beautiful views of mountains and volcanoes to Petrohue. After that, we had our final bus journey, bus number 5, to the picturesque town of Puerto Varas.
